Hello everyone,

Yep! a question about levels!!
In versions up to 7, when I add levels (in an elevation view, obviously) i would locate the start point for the level by lining the cursor vertically above an existing level then either eyeballing the reference dimension or typing in a value. Ok nothing unusual there, but when I try this in ver 8 I only get the reference dimension when I move over part of the drawing see attached images.

I seem to get the ref dim in a zone somewhere above the projecting porch.

Any ideas?

I've tried it forwards and backwards and everything seems to work as intended in Version 8. Temporary dimensions appear during and after placing a new level.

Sorry I can't duplicate your problem.

Thanks for having a look 'Z'

I have attached the model, so if you had the time to try it on your system I would be most grateful. This would eliminate my hardware/install at a stroke!

Everyone else feel free to take a look, you never know one day it may happen to you....oooohh scaaaary.

Anyway, thanks again.

Roy,

I see your problem and I can duplicate it with your file on my system. I can't get the temp dimension while placing the level except over the porch area, as you stated, but the temp dimension appears after the level is in place.

Your system does not seem at fault and I checked a few settings, such as snaps but could not solve the problem.

Perhaps one of the more experienced users can shed some light.
