editing roof by face

I created a flat roof by using roof by face on my mass model. I would like to change the slope of the roof by using a slope arrow but the only way I change the slope is to change the shape of the mass and then recreate the roof by face . Is there a way to disassociate the roof from the mass shape.

AFAIK, elements created by face cannot be disassociated from their host mass.
