Thinner Line Weight

Is there a way to change one of the system line weights (1-16) to be thinner than .003? When I try to adjust the line weights I get an error that the thickness must be over .003. I am trying to create an extra-thin line style that would plot at .002. Is there any way to work around this? Thanks!

Is the difference between .003 and .002 really that noticable?

.003 is great for 300 DPI. .00166 is better for 600 DPI.

No, you are right that the difference between .003 and .002 is not really noticeable, but I am just trying to find a way to make something look finer than the #1 lineweight for purely graphic reasons. Maybe just a thin gray line would work best...Thanks for your input.

I would like to see thinner line weights being possible in perspective views.

In general, jpeg images and avi's of shaded views look better in shading with edges views.

The thinest line weight which is possible to define is 0.075 which seems OK when the view is reasonably close to the model however, on larger models, the view point needs to be further away and the edge lines start to dominate the view.

As model sizes are likely to grow in the future I would suggest line weights down to 0.015

For presentation purposes I would like to see both orthogonal and perspective views being able to use line weights down to 0.015

I too have noticed that the thinnest lineweight is not as thin as I would like it. You should be able to specify .0001 if you like but what you will find is that it will only print as fine as your printer will allow. In my case the difference between what the printer will allow and what Revit will print is huge. I like to do my floor tiles (hatching) say, in a very fine line but Revit will just not allow it. Grey will not suffice because the grey lines tend to be thicker, although lighter in colour, due to printing technologies.
