I received an ADT file from an associate, I then xref this file into my plans using Acad2005. When the files is xrefed, there is a wall poche shown that is on the same layer as the walls. I want to freeze the poche but the wall lines freeze also. The poche does freeze in the original file received, but do not in the xrefed file. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Steve

Purely out of interest, how can you only Freeze / Turn OFF the poche Layer in the original file if the walls are on the same Layer?

Anyway can't you Freeze / Turn OFF the poche Layer in the original file; Save; then bring the file in as a Xref.

Have a good one, Mike

Hi Mike,
On the original file the poche is on the layer A-wall-2hour, and I can freeze that. when I go into the xrefed file, the poche is on even though I froze the xrefed layer (filename/A-wall-2hour) from the origonal file. It appears that the A-wall-2hour layer is some how integrated with the wall layer, that is why I think it has something to do with ADT. I also tried changing my visretain variable and reinserting the xref, but no change it still shows.
Thanks,
Steve

Hi

I am definitely no ADT expert (I am no expert, full-stop), but I am wondering if the "poche" is a related Style applied to the "walls" (if ADT Objects)...

Are the "walls" ADT Objects or Line Objects?

Do you have the relevant ADT Object Enabler installed?

If no, maybe give this a try... Object Enablers generally give greater control to the relevant Application Objects found within the drawing file.

Thanks Mike,
They were ADT objects, I had the object enabler but still that didn't help so I had to explode the ADT objects in the origonal file.

Can you request that the "associate" Exports / SaveAs the ADT drawing file to AutoCAD DWG format?

For more information on this, please refer to the Autodesk web site (http://www.autodesk.com/).

The above approach might help you in future from having to deal with certain issues / problems.
