We are starting a new project, and the CAD team are new to Revit, previously Microstation users.
We are trying to come to grips with how to draw 2D details efficiently, ie producing a 1:20 wall section from the model, adding additional 2D info, then copying that wall section and modifying it slightly to produce another section.
Also, how do we produce a 1:5 callout view from that 1:20 wall section view so that we don’t have to redraw the 2D information already drawn in the 1:20 section ?
Are we right in thinking that anything placed in a view from under the Model tab will show up in all views whereas anything placed in a view from under the Drafting tab will show up in that view only ?
When you duplicate a view it doesn’t copy any of the 2D (drafting tab) information ?
When you produce a callout from a view, the callout view doesn’t display any of the 2D (drafting tab) information ?
Is there a procedure whereby the 2D(drafting tab) section information is drawn once, can be placed in several views and only needs to be updated once, ie creating a 2D family of details?
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
Roger
