guys/gals
I'm really begining to get anouyed with this one. I've been sent a drawing from anouther source that has services on it but for some reason the text on the linetype is coming out mirrowed? i've looked at all the usual things like direction, ucs mirrtext text style and they all seem to be okay. i've even loaded some of my own linetypes but they are doing the same thing. I know its probably something stupid that i'm overlooking but I can't for the life of me come up with the solution, any ideas.
cheers in advance

Linetypes with TrueTypes don't mix...sometimes (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=8614)
PLINE direction (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=16400)
change linetype direction (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=19881)

you ain't going to like this but none of the above worked out. i've tried rotating the lines via Z but still no joy with that. I've even put in a new layer with one of our own linetypes in but that does the same thing. i'll attach the drawing and see what you come up with?
like I said earlier I'm at a loss with this one.

Where exactly in this drawing are these linetypes? I only see one custom linetype called "Existing Fence", which is displayed as ----X----X----X----X----

I changed the linetype to gas, as I had the ----X-----X-- on mine as well, if you draw left to right, text is right way up, right to left it's upside down....didn't see any mirroring on it at all.
Can you post the definition of the linetype?

sorry folks thats my mistake. I changed them to continous in the hope that when referencde in I could remove the problem. Here is a copy of the original for you all to have a look at. There are 2 service lines on there one that should be ---FW---FW--- and the other ---sw---sw---. See what I mean when you look at the derawing and the thumbnail.

I'm at a loss for this one *shrugs*
Drawing shows the lines as normal for me, mirroring with mirrtext set to 1 will mirror it, I'm at a loss as to why it would come up mirrored on your system and not on mine, as I don't remember ever seeing a setting for making a linetype draw backwards.

Here are the extracted linetype definitions:
*Existing Foul Drain,WATER ---- FW ---- FW ---- FW ----
A,5,-1.25,
["FW",Standard,s=1.25,r=0,x=-0.55,y=-0.625],
-2.5
*Existing Surface Water Drain,WATER ---- SW ---- SW ---- SW ----
A,5,-1.25,
["SW",Standard,s=1.25,r=0,x=-0.55,y=-0.625],
-2.5
I concur with taylorcad, I don't see why it is that way on your machine. I CAN make it look like your screen capture by checking on the "backwards" effect for the Standard textstyle - see attachment.

Hi
Very strange... the following was carried out in AutoCAD 2005.
Select the below Text Objects...
Layer -> 0-25TEXT
Style -> TITLE-ROMANS
9 Text Objects
Erase them from drawing.
Close drawing.
Open drawing.
All Objects using Complex Linetypes are now ok! (please refer to attached drawing file "CHR0027_LAYOUT_MikePerry.dwg").
Unfortunately I do not have the time to investigate this issue / problem further...
