View problem w/flared stair

I drew a simple two story house. Straight run of stairs w/open rails five steps up. The Onwer decided she wanted a flare at the end of the stair on the first floor. The opening cut on the second floor mimicks the stair length and width.

There is a floor drawn for the 2nd floor.

When I created the flare on the first floor is shows through the second floor which is set to be solid shaded w/lines.

Anyone else have this problem or am I drawing wrong.

Someone care to give it a go and see if the problem recurrs?

Couple of thoughts...

Check to see if you have the lower floor set as an underlay on the view where the stair is showing up.

Check the view range properties on the view where the stair is showing up.

I tried a brand new file with no underlays active.

Default view range is set.

I tried what you described, & couldn't get the same to happen, both with curved border & riser.

Last thing I can think of is maybe the stairs are reversed, i.e. flared side is at 2nd fl. & straight sided is at 1st... ?? Check the direction arrow.
