Is there away to have my layers manager not show the xref layers? There used to be away were you could toggle it on and off under "file" or "view", but those are no longer even on there. Basically, what I'm trying to achieve is that when I pull the layers menu down, I don't want to see all the xref layers on there because it just adds alot more layers to see (takes up room) when I won't be doing anything to them. Any ideas?

Open the layer manager, and see the pane on the left, you should see your layer group and property filters... you should automatically have one that says all used, and one that says xref (if there is more than one xref, there should be a + to expand... so, just select the filter that says xref, then check the box at the bottom that says invert filter (and apply to layers toolbar) and you should be in business...

Thanks, Mes. It's wierd how they'll change simple things like that. Are they running out of things to fix?

Anyway, one more thing. Is there a way to keep like that so when I close my drawing and come back to it, the xref layers are still inverted filtered?

Rather than using layer manager, you can also create a new properties filter in the layer window. Under the Name column use ~*|* this will subtract all the xrefs from the list. It will also hide all the xrefs from the pull down

Thanks for the suggestion. That worked too. However, that still basically does the same thing because when I close my drawing and then open it back up, all the layers are on again. Is there a way for it to remember the filters for that particular? Maybe change the default filter so that when I open all my drawings, it opens to this new filter that I created?

Thanks again.

There is if you know how to write lisp. Perhaps you could hop on over to the LISP forum and pick some brains. Or maybe check out the Exchange to see if someone has already written a lisp for that.

Thanks. I'll check it out. I wonder why everything seems like it has to come down to lisp's. You used to be able turn them on an off and it would be for all files you opened in close. They probably shouldn't have changed it. I swear, I'm totally thinking they're out of things to fix so now they're trying to fix things that isn't broken. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." :)
