Materials Editor Bug?

When one is in the materials editor and selects the render material dialogue if you select an empty folder for your material and then press okay the programme locks up. This seems like a failure to trap a user error.

I didn't want to post this as a bug/knwon issue 'til others had commented on it. Any thoughts?

I've had a similar problem, just not with empty folders.
