New Categories

Im struggling to find instructions on how to create a new CATEGORY?

Eg. Where trying to create a new category for metalwork which includes items from stainless steel benches to stainless steel sheving.

Struggle no more... you can't create a new category. ;-)

Revit comes with the basic family categories pre-defined. You can create sub-categories of these in the OBJECT STYLES dialogue then right click on objects, select properties, and assign to the sub-categories to assist in visibility and display control.

For your metalwork example you could assign the Generic Model category and then create a Stainless Steel Fit Out sub-category.
