Let's say you had a lighting layout plan done by your Engineers in AutoCAD, and you wanted to link it into Revit in your Reflected Ceiling Plan so you could place your lights. Well, when you link it into the RCP, you can't see the DWG, because it places it at the floor level. Here's what you do instead:

Link your DWG into the floor plan, as you normally would.
Open your Reflected Ceiling Plan view
Go to the View Properties
Find Underlay, and change the the drop down to your Floor Plan View
Click OK

Now you will see the Floor Plan with the linked DWG in your RCP. You can use this to place your lights!
