We are just starting to work with animations so we have limited experience at this time. Can the animation be saved as an .avi file so our marketing department can use it on the website or a DVD?

I found the record button, sorry I overlooked it.
The assembly I have has been sliced in half to reveal the inside working mechanisms. When I select record the render box comes up. I select current background and lighting styles and current camera. The assembly then records as a complete assembly and not the sliced assembly that I have animated. Any tricks on getting it to remain as a sliced assembly so I can see the animation?

Are you using driven constraints in the assembly file or Inventor Studio. In the *.iam file I can slice the parts using the section view tool, animate it, and keep the slice.
I've not tried iand sectioning in Inventor Studio, but what about using an assembly level cut feature, with appropriate 'remove participant' settings to make it look like some parts are sectioned and some aren't?

Thanks for your input.
All constraints are driven. We half sectioned the assembly and were able to animate and save. The problem only appears when we attempt to record the animation and the assembly is rendered. Today we will try to cut the assembly and see if this will render properly.

Sorry, it was late last night, I meant to say that I could RECORD the animation and keep the section view using driven constraints in the *.iam. I'm not sure what could cause it not to though.
I still think the assembly feature will work.

We got one of our animations completed and the video technician will be incorporating it into our marketing DVD. We created another animation which uses assemblies with multiple parts. When we recorded the animation one of the parts did not get recorded. The file size was 500 MB. Does IV10 limit the .avi file size to this? I've not been able to find any information on this.
When you record the animation it saves as an .avi file.

I know that it saves it as an .avi file, I want to know if there is a file size limit as we lost a part in the animation when we recorded the animation.
