hello all,
My problem is when I'm hatching in one of my drawings. every time is said valid hatch boundary not found. I made myself sure all the lines are closed well.
For insurance I set gaptolerance to 100. When I now try to hatch, the hatch go's past the lines and fills up to non existing lines.
I upload the drawing hoping somebody can help me.
I'm trying to hatch the walls!
The drawing is saved in 2004 version
Thanks Maarten

Hi
Take a look at the "3D Lines" that make-up certain parts of the walls, fix these, you will then be good to go...
Below is a LIST of one such Object -
LINE Layer: "1 BUITENWANDEN"
Space: Model space
Linetype scaling = 100.000
Handle = 485F5
from point, X=151386.360 Y=-7370.381 Z= 1000.000
to point, X=151386.360 Y=-7050.381 Z= 0.000
In Current UCS, Length = 320.000, Angle in XY Plane = 90.0000
3D Length = 1049.952, Angle from XY Plane = 287.7447
Delta X = 0.000, Delta Y = 320.000, Delta Z =-1000.000
The following thread explains a little more...
Non Coplanar Lines? (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=15195)
Have a good one, Mike

thank you very much I would never thought of searching in 3d model.
I know where the problem was created. I exported the windows from ADT. It was a predefined block.
thanks again

Well, I have downloaded your drawing, and did few things, and managed to hatch one of the walls. One thing I noticed is that your lines sometime are brocken (but joined) in a random position, and this will cause AutoCAD either not to detect the boundary or give an unexpected result. look at the lines I hatched and compare the differences.
Check the file uploaded that I have edited with the name of:

Good luck

I believe this post was solved over 5 years ago; there were lines at non zero elevations. A generic FLATTEN would get hatching to work.
Don't expect any response soon; it appears the OP has not been online since May 2006.
