I would like to be able to select any object in an xref separately to determine what layer it is in so i can turn that particular layer of the xref off.
Any ideas on how to do this?
Thanks
Kim
Do you have the express tools loaded? If so, you can use the layfrz command to freeze the selected layer; or use the layoff command to turn off the selected layer. If you use the layoff command, you could use the layon command to turn all off layers back to on.

Periscope from www.manusoft.com MAY help you to identify the layer within the xref. It won't perform any switching though.

Also with express tools loaded, xlist will identify objects in blocks and xrefs.

You can also hit the edit x-ref button and it will tell you what layer and which x-ref th object is on.
