Anybody here has a column capital of this sort and kind enough to share? or if we are to model this in Revit how would you try to do it?

Thanks Mike, column07 is pretty close but I can't edit the family to insert the void in the column. They are all imported objects and not parametric that I can adjust the height and column width.

Thanks anyway for the effort.

Arnel. I have two. One is a Revit file, separate fluted shaft based on American Column Proportions (American Builders Companion). - Shaft is fluted top to bottom (no "bare" or unfluted portions), parametric for proportions depending on opening height. The capitol is separate (you must edit it (not proportional) set up with 4 rams heads or curls, not a scroll. I also have the 3dsmax model (100k). WAY to detailed for working drawings, but good for upclose renders.

The Revit file is HERE (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?p=167690#post167690) . I'll email the Max file when I get back to the office this afternoon.

I model an approximation of the shape (basically and extrusion in the shape of the curved portion, then use model lines on the face of each end of the extrusion to add the detail. Here is an example of the technique, not a column capital but the process is the same.

Thanks Scot, I'll give a try your method.
