Problem with mansard roofs

set all of my parameters, set the base and the top, set slope of roof, yet it behaves totally different then what you would expect. It won't cut off the height limit. If I drag the roof up or down it will turn inot a cone. Great.

anyone build mansard roofs? Would love to hear from you.

Any mansard roofs I've built were made of two separate roofs -- I didn't even bother with the cut off option. I just modeled them in plan where they were supposed to be and what slopes they were supposed to have... and then in section moved them up and down into place, and then used Join geometry to finish.
