Has anyone figured out how to scale these pats more than about 15 times? Thats as high as I can go without just getting an X.

Scott,
Funny you should be asking this. I've been trying to figure this out for a while??
What a pain in the ---.

Oh come on Revit Gods!!!! You can do better than this!
If this simply does not work, then what is everyone doing for a stone hatch??? :?

They work fine at there intended size"real world" its only if you need to make them larger than they really are. Any way I just got a program that should do the trick if it does I'll post the fixed hatches.

Can you supply some details? Specific pattern from a specific supplier? All patterns? Did it work in 5.1 but not 6.0? Etc?

The reality is that only the StoneCAD v1.0 (and possibly the 2.0 - haven't tried them) work properly with Revit. As Scott mentioned, you can only scale them so far, and I don't even know if scaling the values in the .pat file will do the trick.
Later versions of the StoneCAD patterns will not scale up to a decent value in Revit, sad to say; but if anyone needs StoneCAD patterns, just PM me your e-mail address and I'll send them along.

I am using 6.o and trying the Cultured Stone of course. I know they can only scale so far, but I cannot even scale them at all!
Come on Cultured Stone! Revit is the future!! Stop supplying legacy CAD!
I'll take up Wes on his offer. Thanks everyone.

Did anyone try using Excel for scaling?
1. Copy pattern definition into xls
2. Read revit.pat file supplied with Revit 6.0 to understand the meaning of individual numbers.
3. Use Excel to scale X,Y, Delta-X, Delta-Y but do not scale angles
4. Output spreadsheet as a text file and rename it to .pat

Has this been successful with the "Cultured Stone" patterns.
Their text files are not simple like the drafting patterns.
There is a full sheet of specs & coordinates!!!

Hey Wes...what do you think about posting them as an attachment...they're not that big are they?

Well the patconv.exe program didn't work, there is something in these that just can't scale. I'll send one in and see if someone at Revit can figure it out.
Otherwise add stone hatch patterns to the wishlist.
Note to anyone who needs the old cultured stone hatch patterns, I have uploaded them here before and they are on rugi in a file called acad(revit2).pat these can all be scaled to 12 0r 15 times.

It appears that if you
a) rename .pat file to .txt file
b) read it into Excel
c) Scale every column except the first one
d) save as txt (using ',' as a separator)
e) rename .txt to .pat
then you will have scaled the pattern. However this file appears to have a copyright notice and thus should not probably be posted or distributed. removed as suggested, mgmt

In light of the fact that the previously attached pattern file contains a copyright notice for a firm that is unrepresented in this forum we have removed it to avoid compromising the copyright.
The patterns and an application to aid in their creation are freely available from www.stonecad.com though there are apparent issues with the newer versions and Revit. We recommend that folks contact Stonecad to log their request that the patterns are made to work with Revit and to address the scalability of them.
Thanks Leonid, for pointing this out...
