Vertical Compound Walls

I have a wall type which is composed of 3/4" stucco, wd. sheathing, metal studs and Gyp. Bd. I have attached two horizontal sweeps (trim boards) spaced 2 feet apart. In between the trim boards I would like to introduce a separate color of stucco. I've tried splitting the wall vertically and adding a second material, but the wall then becomes 3/4" thicker...not what I'm looking for, nor what would happen in the real world. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to accomplish this?

There's a vertical compound wall similar to what you want in the default commercial template. It's the Exterior - Split Face and CMU on Mtl. Stud wall. They have used sweeps to create different color bands of CMU and then recessed them so that they are flush with face of wall. You could try this approach or simply paint the portion of the wall a different material between your sweeps.

Either cheat and paint your stucco on later or use an additional sweep at the minimum thickness or use a reveal and a sweep in conjunction to achieve a cut out and an insert.

One of these should work, I favour the cutout and insert best without trying it but they may clash with one another and be refused.

Peter, there is no need to use a reveal. Wall sweeps automatically make a cut out of their host where they overlap. Use the wall offset parameter of the sweep (usually to a negative number) to make them flush with the wall face.
