Demolishing Wall Layers

Is there a way to show demoed layers of a wall? We are taking the brick off a wall, but the existing framing will remain in place. Using the demolish tool marks the entire brick veneer wall as demoed. Which means I need to redraw a wall on top set to existing. Is this the correct way of doing this?

In the help file it looks like they demoed everything but the sheetrock!

Well - about yuour only option is to make the existing wall 2 walls. - one that is stud, etc. The other that is just the brick. The you can demo just the brick. Just copy the wall over to the side a bit and then change the type of the two.

I've had this request in since 4.0. I guess the paperwork got lost in the move to Autodesk.:)

The only thing not mentioned here is the use of openings in this scenario. In order for openings to behave properly - that is cut both walls - make sure you use the join geometry tool to join the two wall surfaces.
