But I'm drawing in 2D how can Lines be non-coplanar?

I just don't get it, I'm in a 2D drawing and as far as I know it has always been 2D. But I went to fillet 2 lines with 0" radius and it wouldn't do it. The command line is telling me that the lines are non-coplanar, and that to me means it's trying to work these line on 3 axises? Anyway, I've checked my UCS and it's set at world, it's a 2D icon and everything, but just in this one area of the drawing it's screwy.

I've got to admit, I know next to nothing about 3D, and am trying to stay away from it as long as I can.
Would anyone care to enlighten me?
(Yeah I am working here at home all weekend. Hoping to put in 20 to 30 hrs of time and a half)

What results do you get for the z coordinate if you ID the end points of the lines? (you can also LIST the line and it will give you all the coordinates)

They should all be 0.00000000 (note: it is a good idea to set your accuracy to 8 decimal places for this because a z value of 0.000001 would show up as 0.0000 if you're set to 4 decimal places)
