I have done a modification to a shear wall/braced wall annotation family posted here sometime back by Steve_Stafford. It works alright, but I can't get the text to stay readable in plan view, even though the box "keep readable" is checked in my label properties within this symbol!! Could someone shed some light on this one for me? Thanks!!

That's a cool family. I tried it out, and I can "see" the text fine. What do you mean by you can't keep it "readable"?

In the “mis Shear Symbol rfa” file, click on “Settings” and then “Family Categories & Parameters. There can you select “keep text readable” (see jpeg). I hope this is the solution you were looking for irusun.

Take care,

Thanks for responding Matthew. Hopefully that helps out ford347.

However, as I said, I see the text when I insert the symbol (so I'm not understanding ford347's problem)... am I misunderstanding what "readable" means?

Text in the text note remains readable whenever you rotate it. It never displays upside-down.

Hey guys,

Thanks for your response!! That worked. I can now read my text everywhere....but....now the L= gets flipped to the other side of the shear wall length. Any suggestions?

It never displays upside-down.
Ahh, got it now. Thanks.
