We are trying to put together a common Blocks location.

I though all the Blocks would go into one file and extracted using Design Center.

Others think, place each Block items into its own separate file. Not WBlocked.

Most all of these Blocks have Attributes.

I use tool pallets to share all our custom blocks. Its very easy for me to update and extremely easy to use. I have also used symbol manager but i found tool pallets to be easier for everyone.
Oh, also you can put it on the network somewhere and change the path in the options. Also, set the security so that only you or whoever is in charge of the updating process can edit the files in this location. You can make their path change automatically to your network location too if you so desire.

I second this suggestion....I have been using tool palletes for about 6 months now and easily see the benefits.

We used to have ours as separate drawings, using Tool Palettes for organization.

We recently switched to combining all drawings into a single drawing and now using ADC for organization

Miss the ability to specify parameters in TP, but enjoying easy maintenance of ADC.

Good point about easy maintenance..........I have a small number of blocks that I deal with so it may just come down to how many blocks are in the library.

I forgot one more point.

I can open ADC to a specific location via a menu item.

As far as I know, there is no way to open the tool palette container and set a certain palette visible (on top) -- without storing all palettes individually, in separate locations, and then having your menu macro modify the TP location.

Kind of the same here. We have a folder structure that seperates static details that are blocks from standard parts that are used. They each have their own actual drawing as a block and then we use the Tool Palettes to organize and for ease of use for each user and then of course the back-up is the library for all those odd details that we only occasionaly use. And those are usually pulled in from the design center.
