What I am trying to do is set up my template so that every time I create a 3D view with my camera it will automatically be produced with my desired settings.
I thought I could somehow achieve this with view templates, but haven't figured out how.
What I want is that everytime I create a camera view, the view will already be in shaded with edges and fine detail level, and desired scale.
I know there's a simple answer to this. I just haven't figured it out yet!
The answer will save me a lot of time.
So what do you say? Can the Revit Gods help me out!?

Under “view”, “Save view as template”, you can set and save the default information like shadows and shading with edges. Plus you can also change the visibility as well. Then once you have created several camera shots, select all of the ones you would like to change, right click, and then apply the view template you just created to it.
I hope this is the answer you were looking for.

First create a view with the settings that you want and then goto-->view--->save view template and save it there....now when you create new 3D view, all you have to do is open up the view and goto-->view-->apply view template and select the one you made...and bingo...that should do it

You're pretty close... set up a 3D view as you'd like to see it (shading, phase filter, etc.).
Save it as a template: View>Save as view template... give it a name and make sure all the settings look right.
Then apply the template to a 3D view: View>Apply view template... choose the template that you saved in the last step. Check the box "Apply automatically to views of same type".
Create a new 3D view and it should automatically use the template settings.
One caveat - at least as it works for me, when I place a camera, I need to set the plan to the same phase filter that I want for my 3D view.

Hey there,
This thread reminds me of my 8th grade English class.
1. Tell them what you are going to tell them
2. Tell them
3. Tell them what you told them
Edit: Now that I think about it, kinda reminds me of my last Spec too!
LOL
