I just read an article about 3D printing.
Where you can create actual models from a computer file.
Imagine building a Revit model with this technology.
Can Revit communicate with this 3D printer?

we had a demo from dimension folks few months back...it was similar to this,
check at http://www.dimensionprinting.com
maybe the way to do this would be to export to CAD as dwg and then send to the printer.

Search the groups for posts on stereolithography. There have been a few threads on this issue.

One of the biggest issues is scale. At a 1:100 scale a 40mm mullion would be .4mm thick. Most of the systems can go to about .1mm but the strength of the model for these thin elements can be an issue.

Scale is an issue but totally workable. I do this for a living. I'd be glad to help anyone get a solid model. As a communication tool to a customer you would not believe the reaction when they see a model in less than a week. With a lot of detail. Attached is some that we have done. The firm we do this for usually get the projects when they walk in with one of our models.
