Save vs Apply

In the "Customizations In..." pane, there is a "save" icon. In the CUI, there is also an "Apply" button. Seems to me they might do the same thing.

Anyone know for sure?

Okay, so I was embarrasded for being too lazy to test this for myself.

According to the time stamp, both functions do the same thing. The Apply button seemed to take longer and did display a couple interface elements that were not visible before. May have been a fluke. I'll play more later.

Also, the OK button will do the same as both of these, but close the CUI also.

The only thing missing is an autosave, then there would be every save option known to man in the CUI! :-?

Except a "save as". Hmmm...that might be handy.

And the creation of backup files would be nice.
