lights on in linked files

When rendering with linked files only the lights that are in the parent file render. This makes it difficult to use linked files in anything other than exterior sun light scenes. I have fudged it by for example putting a ceiling ontop of a linked files ceiling and adding lights and also placing generic " studio lights", but it does not give the proper effects. It would be nice if lights in a linked file were automatically grouped by type and appeared in the lighting groups of the parent file.

I totally agree. Linked light fixtures ought to be recognized especially now since we can mirror buildings this way. Another problem with linked files is that if you create custom materials none of the materials show up correctly on the linked file. I found a work around, but what a pain. This shouldn't happen.

in reference to mirror this way could you please elaborate as i am trying to find the fastest way to mirror an entire database
