View Full Version : How do others deal with picking up red marks in Revit?

I am posing this question, because I have not been able to find a way to deal with this to my satisfaction.
We have multiple users on one project. It seems that when one picks up a red mark, they may inadvertantly change something else that was already picked up and yellowed out by another user. How do you guys avoid this situation? Keep in mind most of my team is farily new to Revit.

If your team is working in a single RVT project enabled with worksets, there shouldn't be a conflict. When one person goes to modify the project, they will have to check out a workset, which will be instantly apparent to the other team members. Once the modification is completed, that person should save to central so all others will receive the change and know that the markup was completed.
If everyone on the team is picking up markups at the same time, I would encourage them to use 'Load Latest Worksets' before each pickup.

Drawing review has always been a problem in my experience.
In the days BR (Before Revit) hand drawn or regular CAD drawings still needed information to be noted in every view and on every drawing sheet. With Revit a change in plan (eg revised room name & number) doesn't have to be noted on the plan, detail plan, RCP, section, schedules etc. If you change it once it changes everywhere.
My only advice is to make sure that the person doing the markups is the most experienced in terms of CD's and how Revit works. Only mark changes in one location and keep it consistent. All moved walls noted on plans of one scale, level changes in section, typical conditions (groups etc) on one plan etc. That way the chances of duplication of effort or overalapping revisions will be minimized
Frequent saves to central and getting people in the habit of reloading the latest worksets may also help to offset problems.
Not a real answer Archman, but hopefully helpful.
