Linking Excel Sheet as OLE object

When I link an Excel spreadsheet to an AutoCADLT file, I get extra rows and columns. Sometimes a few of each some times a lot. How do I import only the columns/rows used and not all the empty space?

Yes, I have gone through that set. The problem I am having isn't truncating, quite the reverse. I am also getting anywhere from 1-15 extra columns where there is no data at all as well as 1-15 extra rows, also with no data. The number of extra row/column is drawing dependent, not spreadsheet dependent and only happens when I LINK a spreadsheet. I can paste and it comes in fine.

What happens if you do the following...

Excel Document -> Print Area -> Set Printable Area -> Copy to Clipboard

AutoCAD -> Paste Special -> Paste Link

What Operating System and Excel version are you running?

That seems to work. My OS is Windows 2000, Excel is XP, AutoCADLT 2004. One wonders why this method works and the OLE insert does not and why the problerm is drawing specific when all the drawings originate from the same blank sheet.

Good to hear that method worked... you will find each release of AutoCAD so far has improved on the previous version with regards handling of OLE Objects.

Generaly you will find using Windows XP and Excel XP or 2003 will greatly help the process...
