SPOT DIMENSIONS

How would it be possible to place a spot dimension on a midpoint of a roof instead of the ridge? I cannot figure out a clean way of doing this.

draw a line on the surface of the roof where you want the spot, and then use that to click on to place the spot.

Can you give me a suggestion on what it is I need to be doing with the line. I have placed on a working plane I have also used different lines (ref lines, detail lines, etc) This seems so simple but I cannot make it work.

Try this
1. set workplane = plane roof
2 draw lines to determine the midpoint or whatever.
3 draw line with endpoint at the intersection
4 Spot dimension endpoint
