Contours to Elevation

Is there a way to query contours and have the 3d elevation set?
What a pain having to use map to read the elevation and then move each contour!
If there is a better way, I'm ready!

Figured out previous post, now how do I get contour labels to be placed on the contours?

Rob,

Firts, what release of Map are you using and what add-ons? Do you have the LDT Companion or Land Desktop installed? If so, simply load the Terrain Menu and in the Pulldown, select Contour Labels. If you do not have LDT you have a couple options, Label each contour individually by getting the property of the contour and then placing a text string along the contour and breaking it at the text, or look at some of the 3rd party apps available online to do minor Civil related processes. www.dotsoft.com (http://www.dotsoft.com) has a few good routines available and www.BUDCAD.com (http://www.BUDCAD.com) is another site.
