Imported cad files in forground?

It seems that imported autocad files used to be able to be brought to the foreground
doesnt seem to be an option now, am I missing something?

Just select the imported DWG and the Background/Foreground option is in a drop-down in the Options Bar. However, if you don't use the 'Current View Only' option during linking, you don't have the option to control the draw order.
