Type or Instance Params?

The person that was assigned to maintain all of our families has created some nice doors. The only probelm is that all the params for the doors are instance. This means that if I need several doors of varying widths, I need to make sure that each door is the correct width. This also creates a problem when scheduling. Why would he have done it this way? I think you should have several door types within a family.

you are correct. change the parameters to type in all of those families. And in the wondows he may have touched. The only windows that i leave as instance are triangular or other odd shapes that have to be custom ordered. though, if it is marvin or someone that has a wide variety of odd shaped windows, I would just make the types they offer and not worry about custom sizes. i mean, this ain't new zealand, right?
