Is it possible to export from Revit to Viz 2005 without losing material and mapping definitions? It's because whenever I export to Viz layers, such as walls for example, are all assigned the same color/material instead of different materials such as it should be.

I know there's a plugin for 2005 already, but my question is wether it deals with this issue or not...

Have you mapped out your object layers prior to exporting as dwg/dxf? You should also use file link instead of export option in viz.

In viz also once you link your Revit model it will create sub-object to which you can apply different materials for each instance.... However, here is the hidden trick why in viz if you apply one material to one instance it will apply to all instances because in the material editor in viz under options the PROPAGATE MATERIALS TO INSTANCES by default is checked you need to uncheck this in order for you to be able to apply different materials for each instance.

Thanks a lot for the tip Arnel!!

Does anybody know if this plugin is still available and where it might be? I can't seem to find it in the downloads section of either Viz or Revit. Perhaps I overlooked something.

I think that the plug-in was only for the older versions and that Viz 2005 has it build into the file link feature.
