roof overhangs

Is it possible to manipulate a roof overhang dimension without effecting the structure? For instance, if my roof structure within the building is 2X12 and a large covered porch (overhang as well) is framed with 2X6.
The way that I have it modeled currently is two separate roofs (separation occuring at the overhang) the problem is that the roof separation line will not clean up with the linework tool.
I have also attempted to eliminate the roofing material from both roofs and create a third roof (roofing material to cover both constructs) however, the line still shows up at the break.

Have you tried joining the two roofs using Join Geometry ?

thanks beegee. :oops:. pattern is a little off but much better.

You should be able to align the roof pattern ( model pattern ).

There are some problems with aligning some patterns though. (see other threads ) ... so see how you go.
