How are you all...

1. Modeling gable roofs that have a different tail depth than main roof
depth (i.e. 14" tji's for the roof and then 2x10's for the tails)?

2. Representing truss bottom chords (both scissor and flat) in sections
(drawn? modelled with roofs or ceilings? modelled as a family?)

3. Drawing corner boards? When in reality the corner boards are up against
the sheathing and the siding buts to them, that necessitates a family that
has a void in it to cut the siding if it is modeled. Or, just a filled
region in the elevations?

4. Handling wall base in sections and interior elevations? Modelled? 2D
filled regions?

5. In section/elevations, the gypsum board hatch is rather
overpowering and conveys no sense of depth. I've thought of turning it off and using filled regions with different hatch densities to make the surface pattern. Any other ideas? Best practices?

Overall, I'm looking for guidelines about where to stop modelling and start
drafting. Anyone have the holy grail?
