invalid .dgn file or no data found

I am trying to import .dgn files with 2006 map3d. I tried one using
File>Import>Vector data> selected .dgn as file type and it imported,
I chose no coordinate conversion. I have a long list of files to sort through to find the info I need so I closed the first drawing opened a new drawing and now when I go to import the .dgn I get an error message "Invalid data or no data found" and I can't even import the file that worked the first time around.

If anyone has ideas or have run into this please let me know

Dont have a clue, but try using the MAPIMPORT4 command to load it. It is the older version of the import tool, but sometimes it works better depending on what version the data is coming from.

Try restarting as well if you have not done so already, could be a file lock of some sort on the .dgn file...
