Section drawing copied to drafting view?

I have used a building section view as an underlay to develop a detailed wall section. I have selected "Do not display" under the model view so that only the detailed wall section remains. I would like to copy parts of the detailed section drawing into a drafting view. It does not seam to allow me to paste from clipboard into a drafting view? Is this possible? Is there a way to accomplish this?

Export the view as a dwg and bring the dwg into the drafting view.
Why the need for a drafting view?

I can copy/paste fine between section and drafting view....what exactly are you trying to copy?
