Forgive me if this has been discussed already...

Revit 8.1
Withing the Visiblity/Graphics & Cut line styles - When you select the structure layer and change it's color, to say blue. The very end of the wall's structure changes, but not the length of the wall. If you alter the width to one size larger, then the color will show down the length of the wall.

Not sure if this is isolated to my pc or not, but wanted to address it.

Thanks,
Tony Isenhoff

In 8.1, elements have a new property - Common Edges - under Object Styles.

Common Edges are used when the Cut Lines styles layers are the same line weight. Changing the line weights invokes the colour / pattern over rides where the higher line weight takes precedence.

I took your response and dug a bit deeper. For everyone elses benefit, here is a clip from the help file...

Using overrides, you can control the visibility of cut edges in host layers in plan and section views. The hosts to which you can apply an override are walls, roofs, floors, and ceilings. You can assign line weight, line color, and line pattern to each of the layer functions: Structure, Substrate, Thermal/Air, Finish 1, and Finish 2. You can also control the line styles for common edges, which occur when a line is common to two layers of differing functions.

If both layers are drawn in line styles with the same pen weight, the properties assigned to common edges are used.

Thanks for the direction...
Tony
