hello
just to post a little question...

actualy, work on urban project with lot of house...
(more 80 houses in project)
just import RVT file (only one for 80 houses!!! .. yes it's the same!!!)
just copy House RVT imported (linked!!) and use sometimes simmetry on ..

when i export in DWG (for FileLink Viz2006 or other soft)
REVIT create 80 DWG file in Xref ... (not one Xref file.. 80 DWG file!!!!)

so the final DWG file (DWG principal and more 80 DWG xref file...) is big big BIG VERY BIG
the RVT file is 12 Mo (4Mo for the RVT house file linked)
so in DWG we arrive at more than 60 Mo
and Viz2006 or MAX6 don't want to import by filelink (Viz2006 crash and MAx7 block at 99% 2 hours...)

so if somebody have any idea... i take IT !!!!!

thanks

You would be better off exporting 1 building since they are all the same. And then export whatever site plan or topo you have. Bring those into Viz and make new copy/instances of the original house. This will be less overhead for Viz. Also make sure you are not importing interior information if all you are going to do is render the exterior of the project.

yes thanks ..
but allready verified...
no importing interior information ..

but the problem for me .. it's that in revit 1 RVT linked file become 80 DWG file in export..
it's not normal .. i think ..

thanks for help
use your tips now ;-)

Yes. That is normal. Unless you check the "Export each view or sheet as a single file." Then the linked projects will be blocks in one DWG file.

I'm not sure this will save to any file size or open up in Viz any better...
