Hi,
tried to filter door schedule by family/type -can not! Seem to be that only user made parameters can be used as filters in object schedules (doors etc.) - why?
Try filtering by the Type Mark. For every family type, there is a type mark.

In my door schedule there's only From Room and To Room parameters given in filter plus my own shared parameters

You need to first add the field to your schedule before you can filter with it. If you look at this schedule you will see I can filter by mark plus about 12 other things, Once you add type mark to your schedule(click fields, available fields, select type mark, add) then you can filter by it.

I'm not referring to Room schedules - Door Schedules don't give me either Family or Type.

You can't filter by family(not sure why) but you can by Type Mark. So for each door family just give it a unique type mark, then you can filter it.

I have adopted door hierarchy where doors Family tells what door it's and Type shows the size of the doors. So much easier to pick from the list. So it is little bit annoying that one can't filter Door schedules by these parameters specially. Why? That was the original question.
I have overlooked Type Mark cause it can not be edited when you create door family - so I'm not very familiar with what it is really intended to be use for? Hence it's not edited while creating the family, you can't get it automatically have certain value, do you? -when starting new project do I always have to reassign these Type Marks?

You have to load the family into your template, then assign type marks there, then it's done for every project.

...when starting new project do I always have to reassign these Type Marks? The assumption is that you may not use the same windows for every project. The "type D" window for the last job might be "Type B" on this one, just because there aren't as many for example. If you do reuse the type for many projects...then just do as janunson suggests.
