Log columns

Its tough to draw handcrafted log cabins with trees as the main structure.

Wouldn't a log column just be a round column but with a wood material added to it? That is what I used with ArchiCAD when I used to design log homes. Or are you trying to create a column with the base roots and/or more conical? Then I would think one would use a solid blend or similiar.

I just wanted to see if anyone had some different variations out there. Just kind of poking around really. I ended up just using an architectural round column with a wood material on it. I plan on making a structural column family that has the round geometry in it for now.
