Does export image (after rendering) to anything but a jpeg work for anyone else?
If i try to save a tif, or a bmp, it doesn't work right. Looks like it's simple file naming bug as it save files called .tif) that extra parentheses screws it up.

Really? It will not work for me at all! Everytime I save a .tif revit saves a .bmp) file (no that's not a typo)
Somebody try this if you get a chance:
1. start new project
2. put a coloumn on somthing in.
3. add a camera vew and set the render setting to exterior, Environment: solid color - black, with alpha channel
4. Render
5. Save as tif
i am using 20040114_2100

Does renaming them work? Don't have access to PS at the moment to try.

Yes this is harshing my mellow  Glad I'm not crazy though. I've got a half a dozen rendering due real soon, and seemingly no way to get an alpha channel going.
No, renaming does not work, photoshop won't recogize them.
Anybody know a good way to rename files in win2k, other than right click and rename?
thanks for checking on this steve.

If you click twice (slowly enough so that it is not recognized as a double click) on a file it will activate the renaming function. I'm not sure that it will make a difference because you are just activating the same function through a different path.
You might try renaming twice. The first time just eliminate the file extension. The second time add the file extension back.

Chris, same thing here. I don't think renaming will work. I think it is a BWNPWA, or a bug with no practical workaround...let me know if you figure something out.

In my earlier post , I actually opened an existing rendering and saved it as tif - no problem.
Another test, black background and alpha channel, but on a 3D view w/o camera position , then rendered yields the .bmp) bug.
However, I was able to rename the file in Explorer as a tif and it opens OK in Windows Viewer, but refuses to open in Photoshop.
( I've also notices that files saved as JPG (caps ) will not open in PS until the file extension is made lower case. So maybe its a PS thingo )

I saved a rendering tonight as a tif, no alpha and it turned up .bmp) too...so it doesn't have anything to do with the alpha channel, at least it appears that way. Photoshop wouldn't open it at all...had to copy and paste it from paint.
