Hey all,
I've started a model. (See 04208 Revit Structure 2.pdf). If i lock the left dimension and then select grid "2" and activate dimensions, only the right dimension activates (expected behavior). If I change the right dimension, it comes back with the "Can't change the plane of opening cut sketch" error message. It gives this message for all openings on the level (I deleted them one by one). However, if I don't lock the left dimension, changing the right dimension just moves the elements etc.
Any suggestions as to what is going on?
(I was attempting to test the ease of last minute grid adjustments where the only the dimension between two grids changes but all other relationships remain the same. (I've had the Arch adjust the width of corridors on me last minute before. All other dimensions remain the same but the cooridor changes width. Any suggestions on effecting this change by some other method than dimensioning and locking, would be great too.)
thanks,

Apparently deleting the elements on lev3 allows the change on lev2. I guess I've got to play with this a bit more... I thought I copied all from lev2 to lev3 but only the vert grids show up on lev3. when I delete any vert. grid from lev3 plan, the grid dissappears on lev2. So are these things universal or not? I.E., when i copy from one lev to another, do i need to copy the grids too? or should they appear automatically (if the "3d" is selected for the grid...)
Another Update: Apparently it was the 3rd floor slab (copied from 2nd) that was the offensive item. Deleting the 3rd floor slab allowed me to move the column. Any ideas why I had to do this? Other item... column grids deleted on 3rd floor deleted them from 2nd floor. How do these things work? are they view specific? (apparently not) but they don't automatically show up in a new floor plan view either...? just confused. The help files aren't all that clear on how these objects work.
