I am trying to import some plans & ext elevations drawn in autocad into a revit and put together a 2d set of drawings, I would like to import the elevations into a Revit Elevation view but the come in on the XY plane because that is where they were drawn in autocad. Is there anyway I can get them to tilt up so they are oriented properly in Revit? I would like to use callouts on them. I could insert them into drafting views but I cant use the callouts in drafting views. any ideas?

Actually, you can do callouts from drafting views with imported files.

You will have to keep all the 2d acad elevations in the plan section of your project browser, just rename them as elevations when you make views out of them. You can also rotate the views to orient correctly for layout on sheets as well.

In 6.0, if you import them into elevation or section with "Current View Only" checked, 2d vector elevations will be oriented correctly (the x-y plane from thw dwg will be oriented parallel to the view plane.

You can then use this information for reference
