Roof Join Problem

I am having a hard tme figuring out how to join a dormer roof to the main roof of a project I am working on. I created a basic building to experiment with and have attached it to this post. I have the bottom of the dormer roof joined but cannot get the rear of the roof to join. Can anyone help me out here?

Have you clicked the join roof tool? click it(looks like a little roof plan) then pick the back edge of your dorme, then the face of the roof you want it to extend to.

For this kind of dormer you would use just one roof. If you look at the second image you can see that I split the roof outline and used the slope arrow command. That should get you the look you want.
