Does anyone know how to adjust the lines used for 'edit cut profile'? My edit cut profiles always turn out much darker (heavier lineweight) than the object that I am revising.

go to settings andthen select object styles. this is where you can control line weights for objects loaded in the project.

I'm sorry, you must have mis-understood.
An example: The cut category of my floor is set to '1' (thin lineweight). When I use the 'edit cut profile ' to thicken the slab at a particular area, the resulting profile seems to have a thicker lineweight. The sketch line used to create the profile seems to be a system line that I cannot control, but is set to a thicker lineweight.
The funny thing is that since my original post, I have noticed instances where the opposite is true. I have an object (wall) that is set on a thick cut lineweight. An area in which I revised the wall with the edit cut profile tool is showing as a thin lineweight.
Is there a way to make the edit cut profile lineweights take on the characteristics of the object being modified?

The line used in the sketch mode of 'edit cut profile' is a 'system family: detail line' - is there a way to adjust the lineweight of that line? Why doesn't that line take on the characteristics of the obect being modified?

Sounds like you may have over-ridden your object style with the linework tool, prior to applying the cut profile.
The cut profile should use the same cut object style as the element being profiled.

Which is often not what is wanted, it should be pointed out. I find I quite often want to cut the profile of a single layer of a wall and would like it to remain the lineweight it shows in the wall construction, not the cut line of the wall.
Ideally the edit cut profile lineweight should be available to set (its own linetype?), or at least editable with the linework tool in my view.

I use the filled region tool instead of the cut profile tool for this very reason. The edit cut profile works well for simple things like wall bumps etc, but not usually in details unfortunately.

I have yet to use this tool, although I understand how to use it. What is accomplished by using the 'edit cut profile' tool?

I agree with that...perhaps like it is when creating a fill region, setting the weight of each line while in the sketch mode.

I know this is an old thread but I haven't found the answer to this question anywhere - after digging around object properties I came upon the not-so-obvious answer - the cut profile line weight is controlled by the wall's projection line weight. Hope that helps.
