Help! I'd like to crate a shaft wall that only cleans up with itself. When an interior wall joins a shaft wall it should not clean up, but rather be butted to the face of the shaft wall. This is tricky because the shaft wall wants to clean up with other walls.

The "edit wall joins' tool seems to be useless in achieving this. Cleaning up the offending wall condition on one level can cause a join problem at the same location on a different level.

Is there a way to get the shafts to clean up only with themselves?

(see attached pdf for example. lower left shows correct butted condition. lower right shows wall join that is unmanageable even with the edit wall join tool).

Thanks.

Change the priority level of your wall components and/or put all the components inside the "Core Boundary". Some amount of changing these items should prevent the automatic cleanup problem.

Thanks. I shifted everything (structure and finishes) within the core boundary and it cleans up perfectly.
