I remember a tip about rendering grass from long ago (maybe a year or so). Something along the lines of taking a rendering into Photoshop, using the lasso tool to select the grass, and then applying one of the filters to make it look more bladelike.

Can anyone direct me to the post or tell me again how it is done? Thanks!

You can “puff” up the grass in Photoshop after the fact. 1. copy/isolate grass on a separate layer. 2. Rotate canvas 90 degrees 3. Apply wind filter (staggered from right or left) to grass layer 4. Rotate canvas back.

This is the same technique as the older post you referred to.

Yes, I remember that post and was impressed with the entire rendering. I've used that technique from my Photoshop days, but now I use Corel Painter to...artistify it, then use photoshop to clean up all the layers and adjust colors.
