Edit Stringers

Is it possible to edit the stringer of stairs? There are alway times I would like to clip it off at the floor, or cut the top off to merge with a baseboard.... In the attached image I'd like it to go up to the floor of the fire escape on the top, and also down at the bottom, i.e. horizontal cut on both ends.

Help appreciated.

While 6.0 did add more control to stringers, there are still situations like this where more editing ability would be handy.

A couple of work-arounds :-

1. Use line work to achieve the profile you want, ... if its only for 1 or 2 views.

2. Change the stair to have no stringers, then model the stringer in place.
