I created some movable office partitions in my model. Actually they are just walls. The problem I'm having is I don't want to see these partitions in some views. How can I turn off the visibility of these wall types without turning off the other walls in certain views?

Best bet is to use worksets. Even if you're not in a multi-user environment, it helps by providing your own customized level of organization to your model.

So, basically you're telling me that I've avoided learning worksets long enough? I was almost embarrassed to post the question because I was sure the answer was going to be to simple. No problem, not to simple

Well James, after doing a little research, but still not knowing exactly what was going to happen, I did a "save as" on my drawing and dove into worksets. I set up a workset for partitions and selected all the partitions and assigned them to that workset. Then under VG I turned off the visibility in the interior elevations. Works great James, thanks. Just needed that little nudge

Did you see there is a category called furniture systems that has office partition families. The benefit of building theses families is you can schedule them and get quantities etc.

Don't forget Jim...It's WorkSHARING (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=26266&highlight=worksharing) now... ;)

James, We have also been pleased with how much easier it is to work with worksets in 8.1.

When I go under that category in Autodesk's online library I don't find office partition famlies.

That is probably because they aren't called partitions, but "panels," like the out-of-the-box "Cube Panel.rfa" that comes with content installation and is available online. These are not system families like regular partitions, but are more like they are actually constructed, as in modular units (by type).
